This summer we’ve really had the privilege to connect with so many amazing aspects of nature. Just the other day, after wondering if we’d ever see any, we came upon an area of wild chicory. Often dismissed as mere roadside weeds, chicory is a vibrant blue flower with deep roots that come with many messages. We always take time to understand the deeper meaning of the nature we come across and chicory did not disappoint!
The Stubborn Resilience to Bloom Anywhere
Wild chicory thrives stubbornly where other plants give up, in poor soils, gravel, and harsh roadsides. It chooses to grow in the broken places. It’s deep root spiritually symbolizes inner strength, survival, and standing strong against adversity.
In reflection, like the chicory, each soul has an incredible capacity to endure in both leadership and in life. When life feels like cracked pavement, you still have the power to push through and show your vibrant blue petals to the world.
Rooted, Grounded, and Centered
If you pull at a chicory plant, you will find it is anchored by a remarkably deep taproot. This root connects to stable earth energy from below. Strengthening it’s connection and it’s place in the world.
When life gets busy and your mind feels scattered, the spiritual presence of chicory root serves as a grounding messenger. It reminds you to drop down out of the noise of your head, anchor into your inner wisdom, and remember who you already are. As heart-led entrepreneurs, nature continuously provides us with small nudges to anchor in what matters.
Clearing the Obstacles in Your Path
If you are feeling stuck, seeing chicory root is a sign that you are ready to clear your emotional and energetic blockages. It’s a representation of protective support against negative energies, gently pushing you to sever ties with unhelpful habits, imposter syndrome, or painful past attachments.
The next time you spot a flash of blue petals growing out of a sidewalk or on the side of the road, pause. It’s a remembering. The universe doesn’t always send a lightning bolt to change your direction, more often, it sends a small nudge, a wild root, and a gentle wink to remind you to trust yourself and be open to the wisdom from within.
