For us, it has been about five years since we “jumped the broom” and marked our leap into partnership as entrepreneurs. One of the greatest things we’ve learned is how to ebb and flow through life’s transitions while running our business. Transitions we intentionally create, like launching our first products, and the ones that arrive without asking permission.
Recently, Liz experienced the loss of a very significant family member. During grief, one of the greatest gifts another person can offer is not a solution, but space. Space to feel, to process, to be quiet, to remember. To simply be available, as a loving light, and allow the process of grieving to unfold without expectation. We are deeply honored to be in a partnership that gives each of us permission to do exactly that. There is an unspoken understanding that when life requires one of us to step away, the other can step forward. Not from obligation, but from love. Not from keeping score, but from trust. That is where the real magic of partnership can live.
One of Liz’s morning practices is to write or contemplate the things she is grateful for. In the midst of losing someone deeply significant, gratitude can sometimes feel difficult to access. Grief can fill the space so completely that it can be hard to see anything beyond the loss. Slowly, gratitude has found its way back in, for the memories, for the love, and for the life shared. And, at the core of it all, gratitude for Adrienne.
There is something extraordinary about finding a sisterhood in both business and life. Someone who understands your vision, trusts your heart, carries what you cannot carry for a while, and reminds you that you don’t have to navigate every season alone.
We believe heart-led entrepreneurship isn’t just about what we build, it is also about how we hold one another while we build it. The right partnership creates room for both people to be fully human. To have big dreams and hard days. To celebrate, to pause, to grieve, to grow, and to begin again.
When there is trust at the center, something beautiful happens. You stop needing to do it all and you begin to understand that someone else can hold the reins while you catch your breath. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can build isn’t a business at all. It’s a partnership that allows both people to become more fully who they are.
When we tune in to the love that surrounds us, we may discover that there are miracles that aren’t always the big, life-changing moments. Sometimes, they are happening quietly every day, in the person who shows up, with a hand that reaches out and the space that is honored. There is an energetic trust that develops between partners: I’ve got you. Keep going. Nothing has to miss a beat.
If you are someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who craves autonomy, flexibility, and the freedom to build something meaningful, perhaps you have dreamed about creating something of your own. Something big. Something that feels uniquely yours. And then comes the question: Do I have to do this alone?
The answer doesn’t have to be yes. Choosing someone to walk beside you in the spirit of heart-led entrepreneurship can be pure magic.
We know this topic well and will continue to share more reflections on heart-led partnership in upcoming articles.
